There is a 'Castle Head Field Centre' sign :
Follow the track to the centre.
Google tells me it is 46 miles from M6 J31
(Salmesbury) to Castle Head and should take 50
minutes - but then it will be Friday rush-hour so
allow time for getting on the motorway (especially
if trying to get on at Broughton junction).
Google also tells me it costs about £9 in petrol (or
£6 in a ‘compact’ car) - one way!

Arrival: 5.30pm to 6pm on Friday for registration.
Dinner: 5.45pm and 6.30pm (two sittings)
Course disperses: 4.00pm on Sunday 5 February.
Remember:
- Washable lunch box/bag and drink bottle (students make their own packed lunches at breakfast - bags are supplied if a
student has no box/bag)
- Your instrument, any music you have borrowed and a pencil
- Outdoor clothing for the planned outdoor activities on the Saturday afternoon
- Toiletries / Towel(s)
- Any medication (clearly marked)
There is a payphone on site and students may wish to take change for this. Mobile phone signal is poor (or non-existent) for
most networks (most pupils had no signal last year!).
The tuck shop may be open for a short period in the morning to sell healthy snacks, drinks and souvenirs.

Getting There!
M6 to J36 then left onto A590
At first junction go left (Barrow A590)
At large roundabout go left (Grange-over-Sands B5277)
When you reach the 30 speed limit signs ...
... you take the next left immediately before the cottage (it looks likes their drive!)
DON’T turn too sharply - the first part of the junction (immediately after the ‘LINDALE’ sign) is a gateway into a field!
